Just had another thought our university fees shouldn't go up because it's fine for those who either are very wealthy and those who are poor but what about people like me whose family is in the middle it's us that will get caught and will struggle!!!!!!!! God I hate this elitist capitalist world sometimes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh and also what's the point in voting for a governement if their all out only to line the pockets of the rich. Democracy my arse this contry is a farce the decisions are only made in favour of those who are very rich and powerful!!!!! WHAT A JOKE!

Response to Nicola's bad cinema blog.
Hiya how are you?
Anywho i agree with you i think films like the one we saw should never be banned they all express something, a different feeling or a different thought. Just because it is not considered pc does that mean that we should not see it. Take for instance Clock Work Orange a brilliant film that was banned in the 60's and although it has some rather shocking parts in it does that mean people of that day shopuldn't have seen it? However i do think there needs to be somewher to draw the line and i think that would be any film that try's to put a positive slant on things like crime, child abuse, rape etc.
Hey check ou this blog it's funny!!!!!

In response to Thomas's response to my suicide blog.
I partly agree with you, you cant stereotype. If you have never experienced the feeling of wanting to commit suicide then it's very difficult to talk about your opinion on the topic. I was left with a feelings of anger after watching the programme and I really wish you could have seen it. If in other traditions suicide is considered heroic then does that mean it's ok? Should for instance Kamacarzie (not sure of the spelling) bombing exist? Is it right of us to think of those people you crashed the planes into the twin towers as heroes? I think not! Suicide is still not right no matter how we look at it. Mental illness such as post natal stress is an avenue that I didn't take into consideration. However if a mother kills herself because of mental illness is that the same as chatting to someone over the internet month after month about suicide or is it a cry for help. I don't really know. None of us can really comment unless we have experienced those feelings.
Oh thank you for the joke!!!!!!!!

In response to Joseph's blog on teenage pregnancy.
Teenage pregnancy is so high in this country I totally agree with you. Infact Sandwell Dudley at one point had the highest level of teenage pregnancies in Britain. I think they are given to much support, my mother is a midwife and she says that a lot of teenagers become pregnant as a way of moving out of their family home. They don't have to go out to work they get a house what more could you ask. The question is if teenage mothers were given less help would the teenage pregnancy rate drop? I think it would.

I was just watching the news and what seems to be a link with religion is child abuse within the Catholic Church. There seems to be a countless number of priests who have abused alter boys and children in their care does this not show what a farce religion is. The people who you are supposed to trust who are the closest point to god feel that it's not ok to have sex with an adult or a non catholic but abusing children is ok. Where is the sense if that doesn't tell us all that religion is the biggest pile of poo that what will. A brilliant example of letting religion and God be a hindrance on your life!
I was watching a film the other day called American History X it's about the existence of The Nazi school of thought in America. I found it rather worrying that this kind of bigotry may still part of our society. I then got me think about racism is there any excuse for it in this day and age? I think not I can understand that my grandparents may have been racist and even at a push my parents but not my generation. We have grown up in a multi cultural society and should except everyone as equal. So why don't we? I find that a lot of the racism is from my male friends of around 20 plus. They seem to have the most irrational argument for their racism, they suggest that it is because all other nationalities are aggressive and steel and take drugs etc. I'm sure that this occurs but in equal quantities of all ethnic groups. It makes me feel sick to think that anyone could have these views. I hope they never have to experience some of the racism they have inflicted on others.
Gun Crime!!!!!!!!!
Just want a rant about gun crime in this country. We as a country seem to be going in the same direction as America gun crime seems to be at it all time high especially in Birmingham. Granted it could be a moral panic established by the media it even if its not why should we have to live with this. I want a country where I can walk down the road and feel safe. I know that in this day and age that is a lot to ask but what's the future going to be like for our children. I was watching a programme and it said that in a state in America it is acceptable to have guns but dildos are illegal when is anyone ever gone get killed with a dildo. That made me laugh. One of Friends goes to UCE and her campus is in Peri Bar and she says there are a lot of shooting. I just want to be safe and maybe England isn't the place to get that.

Can you tell lies with integrity?
Well it depends innocent lies such as telling your child Santa exists is not a bad thing. It creates magic in their lives and in future they wont be psychological damaged by it. I think a lie when your trying to protect someone is ok but dangerous because if they find out it can be much worse. Telling a lie to protect yourself is just wrong. For instance if you cheat on your partner and don't tell them you may think your protecting them but infact you're just being selfish because you don't want to have the hassle of the argument etc.
There are always occasions when telling what is known as the whit lie is fine however I feel it will always come out in the future.

Being to religious
Can you be to religious?????
Of Course you can. I consider myself a Christian however I don't go to church very much and I don't really practice many of the religious what I call constraints. I had a debate with one of my friends of how I could consider myself a Christian if I drink, I have sex before marriage and I don't feel I have to marry a fellow Christian. I feel that you have to interpret God's Will for yourself you should use it as a guide not a hindrance on your life. There is a side of me though that believes that religion was only a method for conformity at the time because there were no police as such and no laws in place. I cant help but think there is a lot of brain washing to do with religion I know people who wont drink who wont marry or date a non Christian and find it difficult to have friends who are not Christian. 'God' rules their life I wonder that when they look back on their life will they realize that instead of taking your one chance so seriously they should have had a bit of fun. Will they end up resenting God I think I would.
Cults are very strange I was watching one of these American chat shows on rape and this one girl belonged to a cult who's way of worship was to group rape eachother. Is this really worship or is this the ability to fulfill their desire to rape someone without the victim informing the police. The people who join are usually vulnerable and the cult offer them the love and security they need. They appear be sucked in with great promises of togetherness the person then feeling it is ok for someone to rape them. This is not a religion how can it be although it is classed as one. These will always continue and brain washing will always continue because it is passed through the generations.

Hiya
Body modification???????
Some very nasty pictures in the lecture but incredibly interesting. I have a thought that cultural body modification is ok such as within tribes etc and I believe that tattoos are fine. However things like scaring the tattoos into the skin and hanging them selves off hooks is beyond my comprehension. The furthest I have gone is to have my naval pierced and I'm getting bored of that and want to take it out. Tattoos are a weird thing with me because I like some tattoos but the majority I think just look crap. I would never have one because I think there is a stigma attached to them. My opinion maybe wrong but I think you look common and slightly slagish (depending on the style of tattoo I suppose).
I also don't agree with female circumcision it is just cruel. Women should be able to experience an orgasms, why should they just be seen as a sexual toy for men it wouldn't be so bad if they could enjoy sex as well. Male circumcision is a completely different ball game (excuse the pun) but taking the skin from around the penis doesn't stop men experiencing sexual pleasure. In Africa it is done for hygiene reasons and the Jews do it as part of their religion either way I cant really see the big deal.
I realize after this lecture that I am in fact very sheltered I thought I was rather open minded to everything and most cultural aspects of the lecture I was but I was just bemused that anyone would consider having all their genitals removed I can completely understand it because they find there are to many gender specific constraints in the world but I just though they went a little to far but who am I to comment!

Howdy!!!!
Bloody hell damn you internet I'm supposed to be doing my English assignment it's gotta be in on Friday!!!!! Sucked in again!
Well whilst I'm here I need to discuss something. I saw on television last week a documentary thing on internet suicide chatting. It really has been playing on my mind. It was of people who are suicidal going in chat rooms specifically designed for this kind of thing and talking to eachother... There had been a few cases where people had killed themselves over the net. One instance a lad from America took an overdose on depression tablets encouraged by his 'friends' on his web cam! They didn't try to stop him. He asked someone to call if he looked dead and he also asked the people watching to call the police. They didn't! One lad tried to call when he thought he was dead he didn't answer and instead of being concerned by this just went to bed. Is this what is happening in society now? Have we been desensitized to violence and death?
The other lad from England told all his chat friends that he was going to kill himself and just before his death he posted a web page for people to visit. He discussed how he killed himself, left letters to his family, funeral arrangements etc. It was difficult to take this on board. Firstly you have a chat room where the suicidal chat to the suicidal how are you supposed to help someone if you are as suicidal as they are? Is this not a dangerous area is it more likely to turn into encouragement to kill themselves? I can understand that this can be a comfort when you feel like the last thing you want is someone talking to you that doesn't understand what you are feeling. It can be your support system however it's not a monitored support system like a counseling group. It will I feel just encourage them to feel worse about themselves and to even make it ok if they want to commit suicide!!!!!! Everyone has a right to decide if they want to live or die I believe in euthanasia. However this is not euthanasia. There is a fine line and it is difficult to discuss this because if I say that within the boundaries of euthanasia there is suffering and the person is terminally ill that can be related back to suicide.
This program really was a thought provoking one. Suicide is only a cowedly way out. You leave behind those who love you the most. Stand up and face the world don't be a chicken!!!!!! We all suffer times of depression varying in severity I agree but work through it if not for yourself then those around you who love you! Nothing is ever as bad as it seems.

Wohoooooo MASTURBATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Men talk about masturbation so much and they do it much more than they reveal to their girlfriends. Most of my friends are male and I get the technique talk, the frequency talk, the best lube to use when to have a posh wank the lot. One of my friends told me the other night that he has been waiting 9 days for sex (and yes they do count and keep track of frequency of sex as well) and so one night when his girlfriend had gone to sleep he had a wank next to her!!!! How funny would it have been if she had woken up. Women talk about it as well and we love our vibrators etc which all help to keep us occupied when out of a relationship or probably even more when we're in one. When you're having more sex I think you want that kind of feeling more so I think you do masturbate more when in a relationship.
I by default (someone pulled out) ended up going on a lads holiday in the summer I had a great time. However I wish I had kept a track of what they talked about to do with masturbation and sex most of the 2 weeks was spent talking about it. They made me talk about it loads as well which was fun.
Masturbation is natural and after watching 'This Morning' (in true student style) on how sex was good for you and was like a 'work out for your body' I thought well so is masturbation then. Infact it is probably to some extent better because you can fantasize about being anywhere with anyone. It makes you happy I'm sure. So lets all carry on it's the way forward!!!!!!!!!

Smoking!!!!!!!
I don't hate smoking infact I don't really care if people smoke. I'm not a smoker however when I'm drunk I have this weird urge to have a cigarette????? My one brother smokes and my other is just a social smoker (only smokes when out with mates up town drinking). Both my brothers are older than me by 6 and 9 years so as you can imagine I'm 20 and they treat me still like I'm 12. However on this one occasion when we were out we were all very drunk and my brother gave us all a cigarette. For the first time ever we all smoked around eachother. I was so proud not because of the smoking thing but because they had acknowledged I wasn't 12. It was a major break through. So in this case smoking was actually a positive thing. It can help socialisation, yeah you are sucked in through peer pressure but everyone wants to fit into society and their friendship groups and those who say otherwise are lying!!!!! Weather it be through smoking or something else everyone will do something just to fit in. Is that such a bad thing?????
However last year I worked for Birmingham Midshires and it really pissed me off when those who smoked could have like a million (slight over exaggeration) smoking breaks a day but if you don't smoke and just go for 1 more coffee break than you're usual 2 your looked down on (note the lack of punctuation thats how angry it makes me). I hate that!!!!!!!! I may have well just said I smoked cuz then I could have spent most of the day sitting in the smoking room. It's like that friends episode where Rachel has started a job and is in competition with her colleague, because her boss and this other girl smoke they keep discussing things without her. So she pretends to start smoking just to be included. The wired thing is that does happen in real life.
I also work in a bar and the other thing that annoys me is when people come up to the bar and blow smoke all over me and waft it in my face. It makes my eyes sting and when you have a hangover which I usually do on Saturday and Sunday mornings I just want to puke all over them; that would be funny. I don't mind when there in the bar smoking because it's not directly in my face and I don't even mind the smell of my clothes after.
So what to do? Who knows? I don't want to die through passive smoking so please if you do go to the bar finish smoking first thanks lots. xxx
try these there so funny ask bob a question and see porno smoking.

hiya!!!!
ahhh another opportunity to bore you senseless with my opinions.
Bandits and outlaws.
I don't really feel that bandits and outlaws exist in the way they used to anymore. It seemed that in the older times they weren't as threatening characters in comparison to the violence that occurs in this day and age (crap I'm starting to sound like my grandmother). The likes of Ned Kelly and Bonnie and Clyde didn't really seem violent in the same way gangsters are now. It's gangsters I find that are looked up to and seem to be breaking out of a conformist society. The norms and values within our society toward crime and violence is always a negative one however these gangsters and even football hooligans are seen as 'brave men' and those who should be admired.
So why do we admire these people? I was recently forced to read a book by Lenny Mc....something or other (cant remember his name it was that greater book) he's known for bare knuckle fighting (and for being associated with gangsters) and for some reason lads seem to admire him and look up to him. This book just showed how uneducated and selfish someone can really be. He was just an idiot he spent his whole life surrounded by crime and instead of going out and earning clean money it was just all about taking from those with money. I suppose it represents the class division that exist in England but is that an excuse. Was it an excuse when Ned Kelly was around I think not. These are people to look up to because they went against the system because there are other ways of breaking through an elitist set of conformist values.

Infidelity was a weird one on Wednesday. From birth society tells us that to be unfaithful to your partner is wrong and bad. It is drilled in to us in so many different ways through our parents, teachers, relatives and even through our subconscious. Television tells us it is wrong, how many times have there been infidelity stories on Coronation Street or Eastenders? More times in my life time than I can count on one hand. So there is no doubt in my mind that it is wrong, or is there?
I agree that to cheat on your partner is selfish, it demands that you lie and manipulate others to suit your own needs and more often than not some one is always hurt. My friends farther is a serial cheater and has cheated on his wife since my friend was 12 (when he found out) and probably long before then. She initially threw him out however has taken him back, they don't really talk and never spend any real time together but feel that it was best to stay together because of the children. He carries on cheating on her and living in the house where she does everything and she ignores his affairs. It seems to work because they don't seem desperately unhappy. However I cant help but think that she is left in limbo because she can't move forward with her life and find someone who really cares and appreciates her. What I'm trying to say is that in this case the affair has caused a major void in both their lives it has neither moved it forward or ended the relationship and both i'm sure or unhappy deep down.
I then began to think about American beauty, the woman's affair took the relationship out of a rut and ended it. This made me realize that an affair can actually act as a function in a relationship. I know of other marriages where one of them has had an affair and instead of it destroying their marriage it brought it alive and made it stronger than ever.
So my thought on infidelity is that should we be drilling it in to our children that it is wrong? It can be as the extract from Milan Kundera's suggests be 'breaking ranks and going off into the magnificent unknown'.

The worst thing I would do?????? Hmmmmm!
It was brought up today that people feel boring when asked to write down what the worst thing is they would do if there was no consequences. I suppose because they can't think of anything. That's me. The worst thing I would ever think of doing is going into a really expensive shop and steeling everything. Not exactly the most creative of things I know. After giving it more thought it occurred to me that actually I really dislike my sarcastic boss and would really want to put him in a room full of major sarcastic people tape his mouth up and allow them to throw abuse at him for few hours with al of his staff on looking. I suppose it's a form of revenge but how satisfying it would be.
